Northern Bobwhite Quail
The Northern Bobwhite Quail and their soothing whistle ringing out from the grass or pines on a Southern summer day is a sound that is synonymous with "home" for many. Their multi-colored plumage allows them to camouflage seamlessly with their habitat, and foraging in groups helps them escape predation. Nevertheless, Bobwhites populations have been in a sharp decline due to habitat loss and changes in agriculture, and they are a high priority for conservation and lovers of eastern wildlife.
This original watercolor and gouache painting on high quality watercolor paper proudly features the Bobwhite quail amongst oak branches and magnolia blooms, a nod to Southern summers.
- Original watercolor and gouache
- Painted on archival-quality Arches watercolor paper
- Artwork is 7.5" x 9.5" fitting within an 8" x 10" matte and frame
